Robert Slone Williamson
MONROE -- Mr. Williamson, 72, passed into his Lord's arms while surrounded by his loving family, after a long fought illness he wagered with grace and dignity on May 9, 2008. 'To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord'.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 12, 2008 at Heritage Funeral Home, Weddington/Matthews Chapel, 3700 Forest Lawn Dr, at 3:00 PM. Visitation will take place one hour before the service from 2:00 until 3:00 PM. Interment will be at Forest Lawn East.
Robert was retired after a long career as a self employed men's clothing salesman. His loving service to his Lord and family captured the hearts of many. 'He fought, loved, and laughed to the very end'. Robert was a long time member of Calvary Church in Charlotte,NC. His life embodied the love of God. He will be lovingly missed by all who had received a blessing of having met him.

Robert was born in Columbia, SC on December 3, 1935 to the now late John M. Williamson the II and Virginia Seawell Williamson. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Betty I Williamson, brother John Williamson the III, and two loving grandchildren Haley and Garrett Thigpen. Surviving Robert is his son, Jaye and wife, Rebecca Williamson of Henderson NC; and daughters, Jill W. Thigpen of Monroe, and Jodi and husband, James Worth of Ridgeway, Va; grandchildren, Kelsey, Jacob, Olivia, Zachary Williamson, Ricky and Addison Thigpen and Devin, Ezekiel, Zoe, Shiloh Worth. Robert also has two sisters, Jackie McCullough and Lib Tucker both of Columbia, SC.'Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints' Psalm 116:15 Heritage Funeral and Cremation Service, is serving the Williamson family.
